England’s rankings for March 2015 feature eight Essex players inside the top 20 across the various age groups. Diego and Nouran extend reigns at top of World Junior rankings

Diego Elias and Nouran Gohar – from Peru and Egypt, respectively – extend their reigns at the top of the latest WSF World Junior Rankings, published today by the World Squash Federation. Elise regains No.1 spot in England rankings

ELISE LAZARUS has regained her England number one position in the girls’ Under-15’s despite a hugely reduced playing programme. The Redbridge player is joined in the top 10 by Billericay’s Alice Green (9th) while the improving Ellie Hewes is up to 31st in that higher age group as well as being ranked fifth in the Under-13’s.



Selby equals best world ranking

Essex’s Daryl Selby today equalled his best ever world ranking when he climbed to ninth in the PSA Tour’s October list. The Chelmsford-based 31-year-old, who rises one place, last achieved that berth four years ago, occupying it from April to September 2010. There were some significant improvements for Essex players when the August England rankings were released this week. Over 85 per cent of our junior players rose in the national list with seven Essex youngsters now in the top 20 of the various age groups.
