THIRD TIME LUCKY AS MERSEA SCHOOL CLAIM LEXDEN CUP CROWN

YEAR 5-6 PRIMARY SCHOOL SQUASH COMPETITION

AFTER THE THIRD AND FINAL ROUND OF THIS YEAR’S LEXDEN CUP,  MERSEA’S ‘A’ WERE VICTORIOUS ON THEIR THIRD ATTEMPT AFTER BEATING THEIR OWN ‘B’ TEAM IN THE 1ST/2ND PLACE PLAYOFF MATCH. A SPECIAL MENTION SHOULD GO TO MERSEA SQUASH COACH SALLY MEANLEY WHO’S ENTHUSIASM AND COMMITMENT TO DEVELOP THE MERSEA PUPILS SQUASH SHOULD BE COMMENDED.

PREVIOUS YEARS WINNERS TIPTREE HEATH PRIMARY SCHOOL HAD TO SETTLE FOR 3RD PLACE THIS YEAR AFTER BEATING A FAST IMPROVING STANWAY ‘A’ TEAM. SEE FULL LIST OF RESULTS BELOW,

ALSO AT THIS YEAR’S EVENT TWO BOYS AND TWO GIRLS WERE THE LUCKY RECIPIENTS OF A SQUASH SCHOLARSHIP. THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO PLAYERS WHO CATCH THE EYE BY SHOWING POTENTIAL, ENTHUSIASM AND GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP. THE AWARD INVITES THE PLAYERS TO ATTEND A WHOLE TERM OF JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SQUADS FREE OF CHARGE AT LEXDEN RACKETS & FITNESS CLUB UNDER THE WATCHFUL EYE OF HEAD COACH PAUL ALLEN.
