Date for your diary, Independence Day, 4th of July.
Essex Junior Squash is holding a Barn Dance and Hog Roast for a bit of fun and recreation away from the rigours of the squash courts. It has been a long season so we thought we’d let our hair down (apologies to the follically challenged) and have a good old hoedown with a spot of do-si-do.
There’s a sumptuous hog roast dinner and our head of all things social, Debbie Stinson, has booked a great live band, Spring Heeled Jacks. The venue is Marks Tey Parish Hall , Marks Tey , Colchester CO6 1E and kick-off is at 7.30. Chucking out time’s 11.30.
Tickets cost £15 a head and we have a family ticket for £40. Great news for Kerry Katona and Katie Price. You can bring your own drinks so that’ll save a few quid.
July 4th is the same day as the Harrow Cup so we’re hoping everyone competing and watching during the day will roll on down to Marks Tey for the evening jolly. Is this rock and roll or what!
To book your tickets, call Debbie Stinson on 07917-752421 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Checkered shirts, cowboy boots and stetsons are not compulsory but there’s a prize for the best country gear on show. Paul Selby reckons he’ll be wearing brown paper trousers. Hope he doesn’t get arrested for rustling.
PS: Here’s my favourite cowboy joke. “Two cowboys stagger out of a zoo with their clothes in shreds. One turns to the other and says, ‘That lion dancing sure ain’t as restful as they made out.’”
